Arcata Press Release:

On 2/05/2014 at about 4:00pm, Officers from the Arcata Police Department were dispatched to the 800 block of Tenth Street on the report of a strong arm robbery having just occurred.

Officers contacted the male victim who reported that he had been forcibly robbed of his wallet and check book by another unknown male subject.  Per the victim, the suspect appeared to be under the influence of an unknown substance.  The suspect fled the scene prior to the arrival of officers.

Investigating officers were able to find video surveillance of the interaction between the two subjects and identified the robbery suspect as Eureka resident, Damien David Dunn (age 32).

A BOL was sent to area agencies requesting that if Dunn is located, he be arrested for the robbery.

At about 7:45pm, a deputy from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office located Dunn in the 1700 block of Sutter Rd in McKinleyville where he was taken into custody.  Dunn was transported to the Arcata Police Department for additional investigation then taken to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility where he was booked for PC 211 - Robbery.
