UPDATE 1/22: EPD is no longer looking for “Rocko”.  

Eureka Police Dept. Press Release:

On 1-21-14, EPD officer’s responded to the foot of Del Norte Street to a transient related unknown problem. A male subject was discovered with life threatening injuries likely caused by an assault. The male victim is a 30 year old male transient, Brandon Spharler. Spharler was unable to give a statement prior to emergency medical procedures. 

The Eureka Police Department’s Investigation Division is asking the public for any information about this incident. Spharler had a friend known as Rocko, who shared his camp area. Investigators are also requesting that Rocko make contact with investigators.
