A gripping story is playing out on scanner traffic right now. Various emergency crews including people from fire, medical, and law enforcement groups have crept out a logging road near Carlotta off Fox Creek Road. (See map below.)
As always with scanner traffic, details are sketchy but it sounds as if a victim is currently trapped under the carriage of a piece of logging equipment. The person is currently “alert and oriented” but crews are obviously tense. A helicopter is on its way as are various types of equipment.
LoCO will update with information when possible but please keep the victim and the crews in your thoughts.
UPDATE 2 p.m.: According to scanner traffic, “Just now the patient is being brought up to the ambulance.”
UPDATE 2:02 p.m.: The ambulance, according to scanner traffic, is now on the way to meet the helicopter at the Carlotta Fire Hall.
UPDATE 2:16 p.m.: CHP helicopter can’t make it in due to weather. The ambulance is proceeding in to the hospital.
