From the Arcata Police Department:

On 6/28/14 at approximately 0522 hours, Officers from the Arcata Police Department conducted a vehicle investigation on the 800 block of H St on the Arcata Plaza. The vehicle was occupied by Alexander Andreas Vargas, 24 years old of Rancho Palos Verdes. When officers contacted Vargas he was holding drug paraphernalia in his hand and was “on the nod.”

Vargas was arrested for possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia.

Incident to arrest, a search of the vehicle found a bag containing over 7 pounds of processed marijuana, 1.5 pounds of powder MDMA, blotter paper and vials of LSD, pharmaceutical drugs, and over $9,000 in cash.

Vargas was transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility where he was booked on $100,000 bail for 11350 H&S - possession of heroin, 11359 H&S - possession of marijuana for sale, 11360 H&S - transportation of marijuana for sales, 11378 H&S - possession of dangerous drugs for sale, 11379 H&S - transportation of dangerous drugs for sales.
