On June 29th, 2014 at approximately 1850 hours, the department was notified that the missing juvenile had been located. An officer contacted the juvenile and confirmed she was in good welfare. The department would like to thank the public for their assistance.

Fortuna Police Department press release: 

On June 29th, 2014 at approximately 1230 hours, a Sergeant with the Fortuna Police Department was contacted by the legal guardian of a Ciara Nicole Hider (age 17) who is four days overdue from a camping trip. Hider was last seen on 06/26/14 leaving Fortuna enroute to the Dinsmore area to camp with friends. Hider has failed to contact family or return to the residence.

Ciara Nicole Hider is a white female, age 17, 5’8”, 160 lbs. with brown eyes, brown shoulder length hair. It is
unknown the clothing she was wearing.

Possibly associated to a white Chevy pickup with the numeric’s “71” displayed on the CA license plate or in the company of Ariel Wade and/or Billy Williams.
