According to Joseph Palmer of the United States Marshal Service, another man was arrested this morning during the same investigation that led to the arrest of Ronald Sanchez, Senior. (See previous story here.) Palmer said that around 8 a.m. after arresting Sanchez, the Marshals went to another home associated with the Sanchez family to interview a subject. The home was on Garland Street in Eureka. There they located Damen Carlson (age 19.)
Carlson, had previously been arrested on May 1 in Trinity County during the investigation that led to the arrest of Silverio Sanchez here in Humboldt County. (See previous story here.) According to the press release, Carlson was booked at that time for assaulting a Trinity County police officer. Carlson was arrested today for failing to appear on that previous warrant.
Deputy Marshal Palmer explained that after the arrest of the elder Sanchez and Carlson, he had been getting ready to leave Humboldt. Then he learned that Ronald Sanchez, Jr., the son of Ronald Sanchez, Sr. had escaped from a work party today in Arcata. He asked that the public look for the younger Sanchez. But, he said, “be particularly careful” of Sanchez, Jr. He described the younger Sanchez as dangerous and urged people who spot him to quickly call 911.
“Do not attempt to approach him,” Palmer warned. (See photo and description of escaped inmate here.)
