UPDATE, 4:30 p.m.: Scanner traffic suggests that the woman was under the influence and has been detained on Eel River Drive.

UPDATE, 4:22 p.m.: HCSO deputy Mathieson told LoCO reporter-on-the-scene Hank Sims that there was a woman on the bridge waving her arms and acting suspicious and that their department is taking every necessary precaution since the Eel is running fast and cold. It is not believed that the woman jumped in the river. The search for her continues.

UPDATE, 4:12 p.m.: The bridge is open now. Ferndale Fire, Loleta Fire and an ambulance are on scene and staged on the east side of the river.

Original post: Scanner traffic indicates that emergency personnel are responding to to an incident at Fernbridge possibly involving a female 5150 patient. Traffic across the bridge is currently limited to one lane.
