Arcata police officers chased an alleged miscreant through town around 12:10 today. The capture ended in the Co-op’s parking lot where the scene was captured by local resident Matthew LaFever.

“Officers saw me recording and did not try to stop me,” LaFever said. “I appreciated their willingness to be documented.”

UPDATE 3:07 p.m.:  Kevin Asbury, age 23 of Arcata was seen on the plaza by an APD officer. Asbury was known to be on probation. The officer advised Asbury that he intended to conduct a probation search. The man raced off.  He was apprehended and searched where he was found with psilocybin mushrooms and packaging for sales.

He was booked into the Humboldt County jail for possession, possession for sales and resisting arrest.
