UPDATE, 10:29 a.m.: The Outpost’s Ryan Burns, who also and somewhat redundantly rolled to the scene, verifies McKenna’s assessment of the situation. “Yawn,” Burns writes. “It was tiny and all sealed up by the time I got there. Someone doing front yard work with a Bobcat popped a pipe.”

UPDATE, 10:27 a.m.: LoCO contributor Mark McKenna texts: “Non-event. Cut the gas line on private property. All they had to do was turn off the meter until they fix it.”

Humboldt Bay Fire is responding to a break in a gas main at the corner of Buhne and F streets in Eureka. Scanner traffic indicates that the break was caused by a a road construction crew working at that intersection and that the leak is still active at this moment.

We have people rolling to the scene. Updates coming.
