UPDATE 2:53 p.m.: According to a spokesperson at the Arcata Fire Protection District, the fire turned out to “be nothing of significance.” Most of the engines have been released and returned to base. At this point the details are unclear but one building out of a larger multi story complex was affected.

Original Post: Breaking: Arcata Fire responded to a report of a structure fire in a small apartment building on Alliance Road. Crews have arrived on site. Cal Fire is on the way.
