The above update was posted yesterday to the Pray4ChaseHarris Facebook page which was set up in an attempt to provide updates on 5-year-old local boy Chase Harris who is currently recovering in a Bay Area hospital ICU.
Last Monday, Loleta resident Wade Harris and his son Chase were driving home from a visit to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo when they were involved in a horrific head-on collision on Lakeville Highway. According to the Press-Democrat, when firefighters arrived on the scene, they discovered Chase unconscious in the back seat. He was ultimately flown to Oakland’s Children Hospital with what were believed to be life-threatening injuries. His father, whose injuries were also characterized as life-threatening was transported to Santa Rosa Memorial.
The P-D provided an update to the story yesterday.
As you can imagine, these are rough times. The Outpost was contacted by family members who are attempting to raise funds for the travel expenses Chase’s mom is incurring while relocating to Oakland to be near her son. They’ve set up a page on fundraising site GiveForward for those who feel moved to help out which you can find by clicking here.
Get well soon, Chase.
