Arcata Police Department press release:
On 11/17/2014 at about 10:30pm, an officer with the Arcata Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a motorcycle with two riders on Highway 101 at North Bank Rd for a registration violation.
The operator of the motorcycle initially stopped on North Bank Rd and allowed the female passenger to dismount. The operator of the motorcycle then led the officer on a pursuit that ended with the motorcyclist losing control of the bike on Azalea Ave where he suffered moderate injuries.
The operator of the motorcycle, McKinleyville resident Larry Gene Blake (age 53), was arrested for CVC 2800.2 - Evading a Peace Officer, CVC 4462.5 - False Registration and CVC 14601.1(a) - Driving on a Suspended License.
Blake is currently on court ordered probation for H&S 11377(a) - Possession of a Controlled Substance, CVC 20002 - Hit and Run and CVC 14601.1(a) - Driving on a Suspended License.
Blake was transported by ambulance to Mad River Community Hospital for treatment.
Officers attempted to locate the female passenger after the incident but she had fled the scene prior to their arrival.
