UPDATE, 4:51 p.m.:California Highway Patrol press release:

On November 6th 2014 at approximately 3:00PM, Theresa Dias of Arcata was driving her 2008 Ford Taurus on SR-200 approaching the on ramp to US-101 southbound in McKinleyville.  Due to unsafe speed for wet roadway conditions, and insufficient tread depth on the vehicle’s tires, Dias lost control of the Ford and slid off the south side of the highway.  The Ford rolled over in blackberry bushes south of the highway and came to rest on its side. Units from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Dept, Arcata Mad River Ambulance, Arcata Fire, and the California Highway Patrol, responded to the scene.  Dias and her three minor children in the car suffered minor injuries and were assisted from the collision by Arcata Fire Department personnel.  All parties were transported to Mad River Hospital where they were met by family members.

Officer Barnes is investigating the collision, and alcohol is not suspected to be a factor.
