Arcata Police Department press release:

On 10/9/14 at about 5:11 PM, Officers from APD were dispatched to the 500 block of Ridge Rd for a suspicious circumstance.  The reporting party told APD that two unknown male subjects were at her front door that had been seen loitering in the area earlier in the day.  The reporting party was also concerned due to recent drug sale activity in the area.

Officer arrived on scene and contacted the two subjects matching the description inside a vehicle.  The two subjects were detained and a search of the vehicle was conducted due to the odor of marijuana.  Inside the vehicle, officers located approximately 20 pounds of marijuana and a large amount of money.

Dario Chor Xiong, age 32 of Eureka and Norben Vargas age 35 of Eureka were arrested for 11359 H&S - Possession of Marijuana for Sale.  Both suspects were booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility.

The Arcata Police Department encourages anybody who sees suspicious activity to call law enforcement.
