Arcata Police Department press release: 

On 9/14/14 at about 9:20pm, an officer with the Arcata Police Department located a reported stolen vehicle, a Ford Bronco, driving in the Valley West section of the city.  The vehicle had been stolen from McKinleyville and reported to CHP on 9/09/2014.

The officer followed the vehicle onto northbound Highway 101 until other officers arrived to assist then conducted a high risk traffic stop on Central Ave.

The sole occupant of the vehicle, Arcata resident Bernelle Fay Perkins (age 46), was taken into custody for PC 496(a) - Possession of stolen property. 

It was discovered that Perkins is currently on court ordered probation for PC 459 - Burglary and PC 422 - Threats.  Perkins also had four warrants for her arrest for PC 459 - Burglary and PC 240/242 - Assault and Battery at the time of the incident.

Perkins was transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility where she was booked and lodged.
