UPDATE, 2:56 p.m.: Press release from APD: 

Officers from the Arcata Police Department served a search warrant at two residences on Tuesdaymorning, September 9th.

The first residence was in the 1500 blk of Hilfiker Dr. and the second residence was in the 2500 blk of Cropley Way.

Both residences had been the subject of numerous complaints and anonymous tips related to the use and sales of narcotics.

Upon searching the properties, officers located methamphetamine and paraphernalia consistent with the use of methamphetamine and heroin. Hallucinogenic drugs and growing opium poppies were located and seized from the Cropley home and a stolen firearm was recovered at the Hilfiker home. 

The two search warrants resulted in six arrests.

The following subjects were booked into the Humboldt County Jail on the following charges:

City of Arcata Building Inspectors responded to the Hilfiker home for numerous Arcata Municipal Code violations.

Arcata Police Department (APD)served two narcotic related search warrants this morning, one on Hilfiker Drive and one on Cropley Way. They were searching for evidence of methamphetamine and heroin sales at the two sites which are believed to be connected.  

Detective Sgt. Todd Dockweiler of the APD said that five people were arrested in total. ‘There were drugs located at both locations,” he said. “I can’t release everything we found because we might be going to more locations.”

The APD was assisted by the University Police Department and a K9 from the District Attorney’s office.
