From the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office:
On 03-31-2015 at about 8:12 a.m., Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were dispatched to the area of Big Hill Road in Hoopa for an intoxicated subject firing a firearm into the air, in a residential area. While Sheriff’s Deputies were en-route to the area, they learned the suspect, Cameron Saxon (age 21 of Hoopa), is on probation with a search and seizure clause.
When Sheriff’s Deputies arrived on scene, a witness showed them the trailer Saxon was in. Sheriff’s Deputies called Saxon out of the trailer and detained him without incident. A search was conducted on the trailer and Sheriff’s Deputies located a Ruger Mini 14 rifle, a small amount of ammunition and about 2 grams of suspected methamphetamine. Deputies learned Saxon is a convicted felon and is not allowed to possess firearms or ammunition. Saxon was arrested and booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility for negligent discharge of a firearm PC 246.3, felon in possession of ammunition PC 30305(a), felon in possession of a firearm PC 29800(a)(1), possession of a controlled substance H&S 11377(a) and violation of probation PC 1203.2.
No one was injured during this incident.
