Eureka Police officers dust for fingerprints.
UPDATE, 4:40 p.m.: The Outpost spoke with Eureka Police Captain Brian Stephens, who said he did not believe the suspect is still on mall property. He said the suspect in the case handed a note to the Coast Central bank teller and then fled through Walmart, out the back of the mall toward the greenbelt area with an undisclosed amount of cash. No weapon was used during the robbery, according to Stephens.
UPDATE, 4:36 p.m.: According to police scanner traffic, the suspect is still on the loose. The original call came in at 3:46 p.m., and Walmart employees are currently reviewing security footage to see if the suspect got into a car or ran into the nearby greenbelt.
An officer reported to the dispatcher that police are now checking the trails south of the mall.
