Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office press release:

On 04-05-2015, just before 8:00 P.M., the Sheriff’s Office received a call for service regarding an assault involving a firearm.  Deputies responded to an area near the ten thousand block of Dyerville Loop Road in Myers Flat to investigate.

Deputies contacted the victim in the case and learned he had been in an altercation with a neighbor he identified as, James Bull, 47, of Myers Flat. The victim reported that James was shouting as he walked up his driveway toward the residence. James then threw an object at the victim’s vehicle, breaking the windshield. James removed a firearm from his waistband and pointed it at the victim. The victim attempted to gain possession of the firearm, and a physical struggle ensued.  James was ultimately able to maintain possession of the firearm, and fled the scene on foot. The firearm was not reported to have been fired during the incident. However, the victim did sustain moderate injuries from the physical altercation.

Deputies checked the area, as well as the address listed for James.  As of this time, James has not been located.
