Eureka’s White injured in Auto Racing crashUPDATE: Eureka auto racer Brandon White was hospitalized after a horrific crash Saturday night at Redwood Acres.The crash happened during the eighth lap of the Spears Southwest Tour. White’s car was struck by another car driven by Tracy Bolin and caught fire. His car came to a rest against the wall in turn four. White was able to exit the car as emergency personnel rushed to his aid. UPDATE, 10:55 p.m.: News Channel 3 has identified the hospitalized driver as Brandon White of Eureka and also had shared the video of the crash below to their Facebook page.

Original Post: At least one driver was hospitalized tonight, after a high-speed collision at the Redwood Acres Raceway.

LoCO reporter Andrew Goff is on scene and was told by an eyewitness that two stock cars were involved in an initial collision that slammed one car into a wall, where it briefly caught fire. Two other stock cars were also involved in a lower-impact collision while trying to avoid the first two cars.

The crash occurred lap eight of the 125-lap race. We were told the race would continue after the crew cleans and clears the track.
