Locally, no topic is hotter than the wildfires scorching our region. That being the case, some LoCO readers have reached out wondering if there is any way they can tangibly share their appreciation with our firefighters who are doing their damnedest to keep tame the blazes.
LoCO’s sister radio station KWPT The Point alerts us that 2 Dye 4 Designs in Myers Flat is gathering up supply donations to be delivered to volunteer fire crews that might be short on resources. KWPT’s DJ Carole Ann shared a few of the requests with us: nonperishable food items, paper towels, ziploc bags, ice chests, toilet paper, plates, forks, spoons and ice.
Wanna help? SoHum residents can drop off supplies at 2 Dye 4 Designs (call Tie Dye Jim at 707-943-1618 for more details). NoHum people can drop off items in the News Channel 3 parking lot between the hours of 2-4 p.m. CenHum folks can drop items off at 585 Scenic Drive in Loleta (call Paul at 408-507-0595 for more details).
UPDATE: No sooner had we put up this post than we were alerted to the firefighter boosting efforts going on over at the Pay It Forward Humboldt Facebook page. They appear to be killing it! No doubt they will be willing to coordinate with you for any generosity you feel inclined to bless our firefolk with.
