Eureka Police Department press release: 

On 12/02/15 at about 6:15 p.m., Detectives with the Eureka Police Department’s Problem Oriented Policing Unit (POP) served a search warrant at a residence on the 1500 block of West Avenue. The warrant was obtained in response to a lengthy investigation involving narcotic sales. 

Inside the residence, Detectives seized approximately 455 grams of methamphetamine, 42 grams of heroin, nearly 30 grams of cocaine, and over 4.5 pounds of marijuana.  Seven people inside the residence were arrested for conspiracy to commit drug trafficking and were and transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility.

Those arrested and their additional charges:

  • Crystal Rosenburg (34 of Eureka), possession of drug paraphernalia and probation violation.
  • Deanna McDonald (35 of Fortuna), possession of drugs for sales.
  • Franklin Whilden (33 of Eureka), possession of drugs for sales.
  • Joshua Rau (35 of Eureka), possession of drugs for sales.
  • Thomas Smith (43 of Eureka), possession of a controlled substance for sales.
  • Donald Rivers (56 of Eureka), possession of drugs for sales and maintaining a residence for drug use/sales.
  • Ronald Spears (59 of Eureka), possession of drugs for sales and felon in possession of ammunition.
