Arcata Police Department press release:
At approximately 2:30 am on Sunday, January 25th,an officer with the Arcata Police Department observed a suspicious vehicle parked in the parking lot of a closed business in the 600 Block of Samoa Blvd.
When the officer attempted to contact the two men associated with the vehicle, they both fled on foot. Additional officers responded to the area and the two men were eventually located and detained.
During the subsequent investigation approximately one quarter pound of heroin, packaged for sales,was located. Additional heroin and several grams of methamphetamine were located along with a large number of prescription pills, marijuana and concentrated cannabis. The driver of the vehicle, Blue Lake resident Robert Louis Huntzinger (age 33), who was currently out on bail from his arrest on 01/21/2015 for possession of heroin for sale, was arrested on the following charges:
- H&S 11351 - Possession of a Narcotic forSales
- H&S 11350 - Possession of Narcotics
- PC 12022.1 - Commission of Felony While on Bail
- H&S 11377 - Possession of a ControlledSubstance
Willie Jamerson, 55 of McKinleyville was also arrested for an outstanding warrant.
Both men were booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility.
