The California Highway Patrol have released more information on yesterday’s arrest of one suspect and search for another in the Southern Humboldt town of Weott.

On 01/04/15, at approximately 1515 hours, an officer with CHP Garberville Area Office observed two male subject inside a Toyota pickup matching the description of a vehicle recently reported as stolen from the Arcata area. The officer observed the two subjects drive the Toyota from the Weott CalFire station into the driveway of a residence across the street. The officer conducted a high risk enforcement stop on the vehicle. The driver was still located in the vehicle. The passenger had exited the vehicle prior to contact and was located near the front of the Toyota. The officer ordered the driver to show his hands to which he complied. At that moment, the passenger began to walk away. When the officer ordered the passenger to stop, the passenger fled on foot, running through the yard of the residence and jumped a barb wire fence. The driver of the vehicle was detained and CHP dispatch confirmed the vehicle was stolen. Heroin, Marijuana, and loaded firearms were located in the vehicle.
The driver was identified as Seth Mallo and the passenger was identified as Dale Baldridge [See photo right.] Mallo was subsequently arrested. A search of the area was conducted by CHP with the assistance of the Humboldt County Sheriffs Office, CA State Parks, CalFire and the CHP Northern Division Air Operations. During the search, Baldridge was located a second time by the Humboldt County Deputy, but once again fled on foot. Baldridge is still at large and any information regarding his whereabouts should be forward to CHP.
