UPDATE, 9:10 p.m.: EPD Officer Tim Cooper tells the Outpost:
Earlier today, officers learned of a black stolen Kia Optima that was stolen out of the Fortuna area. It was learned that the vehicle was spotted earlier in the day, but fled the scene before officers could take the driver into custody.
Later in the day, officers located the vehicle and attempted to stop it. However, the driver fled and officers were unable to continue after him due to safety concerns for the other motorists, pedestrians, etc. It was soon learned that the Kia struck another vehicle when it fled. I believe the other vehicle was a parked car, but I am not 100 percent as I was not working at the time.
The suspect is believed to be Ryan Taylor Landowski, 31 years of age. Landowski is currently wanted by parole and has an active felony warrant for his arrest.
