Gordon Leonard Thompson passed away at his Bayside home on July 15, with his wife by his side.  Gordon was born in Compton, California, November 12, 1941.  He spent his childhood in Mt. Shasta and Oregon later moving to Ukiah in his teens. He graduated from Ukiah High with the class of 1959.  Gordon served four years in the Navy on the USS Cavalier and two years in the reserve. He spent most of his adult life working in the Liquor and Wine industry serving Lake, Mendocino and Humboldt Counties. He was preceded in death by his parents, Merville and Esther Thompson, brother Raymond Thompson, sister Donna George and nephew Chris Thompson. He is survived by his wife Linda, son Martin Thompson (Deborah) of St. Cloud, Minn., daughter, Deanne Fisher (David) of McKinleyville and 4 grandchildren Megan, Ethan and Tatum Fisher of McKinleyville and Kathleen Thompson of St. Cloud, Minn.  He is also survived by his sister Phyllis Davis, brother Victor Thompson (Linda), and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, July 21 at 1pm at Greenwood Cemetery in Arcata under the direction of Paul’s Chapel. A reception will follow at Trinity Baptist Church, 2450 Alliance Road, Arcata, CA.
