From the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office:
On 07-19-2015 at 2:34 a.m. the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office responded to the report of a robbery / assault that had just occurred at a residence located in the 200 block of Carroll Road, Loleta. When deputies arrived on scene they contacted a 55 year old male victim, who was standing in the driveway in front of the residence.
Deputies could see that the victim was bleeding from numerous puncture type wounds to his head, face and chest. Deputies immediately contacted their dispatch and requested an ambulance respond to their location.
The deputies were able to speak to the victim, prior to the arrival of the ambulance. The victim said that he was at the Bear River Casino in Loleta earlier this evening with friends. The victim said he attempted to get a room at the hotel, but they were full. One of his friends offered for him to stay at their residence on Carroll Road. The victim said once he arrived at the residence he went into the garage area with three other friends to smoke marijuana and drink alcohol.
The victim said after about 30 minutes in the garage, two unknown male suspects entered the garage wearing masks and hooded sweatshirts. The victim said the suspects stated to him, “Your not Indian get off the reservation” The victim said that one suspect then started assaulting him a large hunting style knife. The victim said they also kicked him several times in the rib area. The victim said when he was being assaulted his friends ran out of the garage.
The victim said during the assault one of the suspects said, “Give me the money in your back pocket”. The victim said the suspects then took his cellular telephone and his wallet. The victim said there were several wining casino tickets with an undisclosed dollar amount inside of his wallet.
The victim was transported to a local hospital and treated for his injuries which are not life threating. The victim was unable to provide a physical description of the suspects.
