A baby yearning for freedom was born on the Tompkins Hill offramp around 10 a.m. this morning. A green Ford Escape driving on U.S. Highway 101, parked on the offramp when the 26-year old mother began to deliver the baby. Humboldt Bay Fire and an ambulance were dispatched and the baby was delivered on scene. Don’t tread on that baby!
