The Saddle Fire in Trinity County has grown to an estimated 921 acres overnight, according to >Klamath-Trinity National Forest incident managers. Evacuation orders are still in place for residents of Lower South Fork Road, and an evacuation advisory is in place for the town of Hyampom. The Red Cross has set up an evacuation center at Hayfork High School.

No official maps of Saddle Fire have been made public, though NASA heat-sensing satellites give us lo-res estimates of the fire’s location and size:

An outside command team is expected to arrive this afternoon, and will take command of the fire tomorrow morning. In the meantime, it is expected to keep growing and moving to the south and west.

The Bald Fire, between Orick and Weitchpec, is 30 percent contained, but Calfire has reduced its estimate of its size.
