Readers alert us to a pair of accidents in and near Richardson Grove this morning. According to LoCO‘s CHP Watch, a call came in just after 6 a.m. that a FedEx semi had traveled off the roadway and into a tree. Emergency personnel at the scene report that the right front steering axle has been sheered off.

A couple hours later, while crews were still working on that incident, a second accident occurred, reportedly involving a motorcycle. LoCO has less information on the nature of that collision or if it was somehow related to traffic being backed up in the grove.

No significant injuries have been reported in either crash. Caltrans tells us that one lane is currently closed while they clear the truck from the scene. They don’t expect it to take too long.
