Eureka Police Department press release:

Over the past several weeks, Eureka has experienced a rash of stolen vehicles occurring throughout the city with a concentration between Broadway and Union and Wabash and Henderson Streets.

During the last 30 days, there were 32 vehicles reported stolen within the city limits of Eureka. 24 of those vehicles have been recovered locally, while seven are still outstanding at this time. In most cases the vehicles have been recovered with no damage and no forced entry, which is a sign that a shaved key is possibly being used.

Seven of the 32 stolen vehicles have been a Nissan Pickup between the years of 1985 and 1993. Four of those seven Nissan Pickups have been stolen within the last four days. We encourage anyone with a Nissan Pickup around those years to take extra caution.
