From the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office:
On 06-05-2015 at about 1:30 p.m. a Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office responded to a local hospital to take a report of an assault that occurred in the 31000 block of Highway 36. The 27 year old male victim said (3) three unknown white males with masks entered his property. They then assaulted the victim in the head with the butt end of a rifle or shotgun. One of the suspects then fired at least one shot at a second, 28 year old male victim, who was not struck by the bullet. The suspects then fled from the property.
Deputies later responded to the property to secure the scene and determine if there were additional victims. No other victims were located on the property. Deputies located a marijuana growing operation on the property. The marijuana growing operation was determined to be in compliance with a medicinal marijuana growing operation.
The victim, who was struck in the head with the firearm, is currently being treated at an undisclosed hospital for a fractured skull and several brain bleeds. The victim was examined by neurosurgeon, and is still being monitored in ICU at this time. The victim is currently is stable condition.
