PREVIOUSLY: Three Eureka Residents Indicted in Large Drug Trafficking Case Out of Georgia

There aren’t a lot of new details available about “Operation Southern Postal Powder,” the federal drug trafficking and money laundering investigation that resulted in 35 people arrested nationwide last month, including three from Eureka. There is little information in the court file about what the feds believe to be the Humboldt connection in alleged the Macon, Ga.-based drug organization, and press coverage from the courtroom down in Georgia has been limited so far.
However, the court file does show that the three Eureka defendants in the case — Brandon Vitale, David Fells and Shannon Miller — did, in fact, make their first court date in Macon yesterday, after a Humboldt County judge ordered them there on their own recognizance. All three pleaded not guilty.
