At about 1:30 this morning, a resident of the 3400 block of F Street called the Eureka Police Department and told dispatchers that he had just shot a man who was at his door.
Police and medical personnel arrived in force. One neighbor told the Outpost this morning that she spotted 10 vehicles belonging to various emergency services at the scene, which is on the south side of Harris across from Handee Market.
“Preliminary — and I stress preliminary — reports are it was a single gun shot wound that was not fatal,” Captain Steve Watson of the Eureka Police Department told the Outpost this morning. “He is being treated, last I heard, at a local hospital. The circumstances around the shooting are still under investigation.”
Watson said that the department would likely release more information on the incident tomorrow.
