From the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office:
The deceased pedestrian that was involved in the accident at Highway 101 near the King Salmon exit on March 5, 2015 has been identified as Aaron James Bramlett, age 30, from King Salmon. The California Highway Patrol is the lead agency in this investigation. The Coroner’s Office has no other information to release at this time.
From the California Highway Patrol:
On March 4 5, 2015, at approximately 1:38 a.m., Eden Chandler drove his Jeep Cherokee on the US 101 northbound onramp from King Salmon. A male pedestrian in dark clothing was walking on the freeway between the onramp and the right lane of northbound US 101. The pedestrian ran back eastbound towards the Jeep and the driver of the jeep took evasive action to avoid the collision but the left front of the Jeep collided with the pedestrian. The pedestrian was transported by ambulance to St. Joseph Hospital for major injuries and succumbed to his injuries. Next of kin was identified and the Humboldt County Coroner will be making notification.
The California Highway Patrol-Humboldt Area responded to the scene and is conducting the investigation. Personnel from Eureka Volunteer Fire Department, Eureka Ambulance, and Humboldt County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene.
