“Left! Left!”
Outpost reporter Andrew Goff happened to be driving across the Samoa Bridge this afternoon with his brand-new camera when he spotted the moment of minor mayhem depicted above and below. As you can see, this was at the Woodley Island turnoff (despite where the CHP initially pegged it to the map).
Everyone was OK. Goff got out and talked to the vehicle’s occupants — a father (passenger) who was giving his son a driving lesson. The son, Goff learned, had a moment of indecision on that tight corner and ended up off the bank, presumably at low speed.
Lessons learned! The takeaways, here, are two: If you were driving past this and experienced fear or sorrow, know that all is well. This is the ideal first crash.
Secondly: The Outpost has a nice new camera.
