On the evening of Monday, November 9, two vehicles were involved in a traffic collisions resulting in major injuries to one of the parties.
On November 9, 2015, at approximately 2037 hours, CHP officers responded to a traffic collision on US-101 southbound, south of SR-36. A 2002 Buick LaSabre, driven by, Elbert Coulter, age 87, of Lucerne, CA, for reasons still to be determined, was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes when it sideswiped a 2010, Kia Sole, driven by, Brittney Fisher, age 19, of Fortuna, CA.
The Buick continued northbound in the southbound lanes and collided with a concrete wall in the center divider. As a result of this collision, Coulter sustained major injuries and was transported by ambulance to Redwood Memorial Hospital in Fortuna for injuries he sustained from this collision. Alcohol is not suspected to have been a factor in this collision.
