Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office press release:
On Monday, November 9, 2015 at approximately 7:15 a.m. the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office received a phone call from the sister of Floyd Jones, age 44, from Hoopa. The reporting party wished to report Jones as missing. She stated he went for a walk the previous day and has yet to return.
Roughly one hour later HCSO received a call from another reporting party stating they found Mr. Jones near his truck, deceased. The truck was parked alongside Slate Creek Rd. A Deputy Coroner arrived and it was confirmed the body was that of Floyd Jones. At this point it does not look as though foul play was involved. An autopsy will be conducted on Thursday to determine the cause of death.
