Press release from the Ferndale Police Department:
On November 4, 2015 at approximately 1600 hours, Ferndale Police Officers Tyler James and Sergeant Adam Stricker were on patrol in the area of Ocean and Main Street. The officers stopped a vehicle driven by Casey Christopher Woods of Eureka in the area of Ocean and 5th Streets for a vehicle code violation.
During the traffic investigation, officers could smell an odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle, there was a rifle case in plain view and the driver was exhibiting signs and symptoms of being under the influence of a controlled substance, most likely methamphetamine. Upon a search of the vehicle, Woods was found to be in possession of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and a rifle. Furthermore, the officers determined Woods was under the influence of a controlled substance.
Based on the officer’s investigation, Woods was arrested and booked on the following charges:
- H/S 11377 (a), Possession of methamphetamine
- P/C 29800, Possession of a firearm w/ammunition while being under the influence.
- H/S 11364(a), Possession of drug paraphernalia/methamphetamine smoking pipe
- H/S 11550 Being under the influence of a controlled substance/methamphetamine.
