From the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office:

On Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at about 3:30 p.m. the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a physical fight between a man and a woman at a residence on the 40500 block of Hwy 299, Willow Creek. It was reported that one of the subjects had a baseball bat.

Deputies arrived on scene and requested entrance to the house to check on those reported fighting. The subject who answered the door, arrestee Alexander James Fugini-Laws, age 24, of Willow Creek, refused deputies entrance to the residence. Deputies explained they were only there to check on the report of a physical fight and not there for the marijuana garden that was visible from the road. Fugini-Laws refused and stated deputies were not allowed entrance without a search warrant.

Deputies contacted the Humboldt County Drug Task Force and a search warrant was issued by the Humboldt County Superior Court. They contacted the individuals fighting and determined it was a verbal altercation only. Located on the property was 338 growing marijuana plants, 330 drying marijuana [plants], and packaging materials.

Alexander James Fugini-Laws was arrested for HS11358 – Plant/Cultivate/Harvest Marijuana, and HS11359 – Possession of Marijuana for Sale. Fugini-Laws was transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility and booked on the above charges. His bail was set at $75,000.
