UPDATE: Missing Orleans Hunter Found, Helivaced to Hospital After ‘Four-Day Ordeal,’ Booked Into Jail on Outstanding Felony Warrants

On Monday, September 28, 2015 at approximately 00:29 a.m. the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a missing person from Yreka. The reporting party, (RP), stated that her brother-in-law, and his nephew, Taren Joseph Rae Aubrey, age 19, went on a hunting trip in the Orleans area on Wednesday, September 23, 2015. On Thursday, September 24, 2015, the brother-in-law and Aubrey separated and planned to meet at a specific location near Whiteys Peak at a certain time but Aubrey never showed up. The RP stated her brother-in-law has been searching for Aubrey with one or two other people.

The Sheriff’s Office initiated a Search and Rescue (SAR). There are two deputies and one sergeant searching for Aubrey along with members of the posse. Additional deputies are en route. The Sheriff’s Office has coordinated efforts with California Highway Patrol (CHP) for helicopter resources.
