From the Eureka Police Department:

On 4/05/16 at about 10:38 p.m., an officer on patrol observed a gray SUV travelling at a high rate of speed and breaking traction near Broadway and Wabash Streets.  When the officer attempted to make a traffic stop, the driver fled in the vehicle at about 40 miles per hour and failed to stop at stop signs. The driver of the SUV ultimately collided with a parked car near Long and William Streets. 

The driver, identified as Kian Mikal Shores, 33 of Eureka, was uninjured in the collision.  Shores was arrested for driving under the influence, driving on a suspended license, and outstanding warrants for DUI charges.
