Last night’s wildfire along Highway 299 near Berry Summit flared up really quickly and inspired a whole lot of photography.
Laura Coleman, public information officer for the Calfire’s Humboldt Del-Norte Unit, told the Outpost that the fire was contained at about 8 o’clock this morning, and that crews will likely be at the site for the next couple of days, doing mop-up. The fire is “contained,” not “controlled,” she said.
Coleman said that there is still no word on the cause of the fire, which was held to about 4.6 acres.
