Redwood National and State Parks:

When it rains, it pours—a lot of rocks! Davison Road is closed to vehicle traffic 1/8 of a mile past the Gold Bluff Beach entrance kiosk.

A large, unstable and impassable landslide has blocked the road. In addition, Gold Bluffs Beach Campground, including the hiker/biker camp sites, is also closed due to the slide.

For visitors still wishing access to the beach, very limited parking of ten cars or less is available at the parking area approximately 1/8-mile past the kiosk. Please do not park in front of gates.

Fern Canyon is open to hikers, and is approximately four miles round-trip from the parking area via hiking on the beach; however, be prepared for high water due to recent heavy rains.

The area around the landslide is closed to the public due to continuing falling rocks. Davison Road at the Trillium Falls intersection is open. No estimates for re-opening past the gate, but we will let you know.
