Barbara
E. Pryor-Davis — born July 10,1941, passed away November 30, 2016.
She had been a long time resident of Rio Dell. She moved here with her husband and three children from PenMar, Maryland in 1961. Her youngest son, Terry Lynn Pryor, was born here in Fortuna in 1961.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, James E. Pryor (1935-1974), her son Terry Lynn Pryor (1961-1990) and her second husband, Elmer G. Davis (1942-2014). She is survived by her daughters, Kandy Johnson of Auburn and Penny Pryor of Rio Dell; her son Jim Pryor of Fortuna; her stepchildren, Deborah Stewart and Gary Davis; seven grandchildren and eleven great-grand children.
After the death of her first husband, James, she returned to school. She graduated from College of the Redwoods with an associates degree in business. She was then employed by College of the Redwoods for nearly 20 years. She loved her job at CR and helped many many students achieve their educational goals. She also had Davis Towing in Rio Dell for nearly 20 years.
She was a strong and giving woman. She endured many difficult situations. She was an inspiration and a joy to be around. She will be missed terribly.
The family will have a memorial service or celebration of life in the near future. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Hospice of Humboldt.
