The Eureka Police Department is currently investigating a report of shots fired at a car in or near the BevMo parking lot.
Police were called to the scene at around 3:30 p.m.
Several witnesses called to report the incident, according to EPD public information officer Brittany Powell, though no suspect or victim has been located at this time.
According to at least one witness, Powell said, a man in the lot was seen to walk over to a parked car. Shortly after a “pop” or several “pops” were heard, then loud yelling. The man walked away from the car and was seen to have what looked like a black firearm, which he then put into his jacket.
Powell said that the man is believed to have left the scene in a silver four-door Chevy Impala. The person or people in the first car have not been located.
Powell said that the police department would very much like to speak with more people who may have witnessed this incident, and especially to the person or people in the first car. Anyone with information is asked to call the EPD at 441-4044.
