Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office press release:
On Friday, January 8, 2016, at about 9:51 a.m. the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 1800 block of Barnum Rd, Miranda, for the report of a subject with a gun. Deputies contacted 44 year old Hugh Henson, from Miranda, who had a felony warrant for his arrest. Deputies conducted a probation search and located a pistol inside Henson’s residence. The pistol was later determined stolen out of Fortuna.
Henson was arrested for being a felon in possession of a stolen firearm, a prohibited person possessing a firearm, violation of probation, and his felony warrant. Henson was transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility for booking. Due to medical issues he was taken to a local hospital for treatment and issued a citation for his fresh charges.
On Tuesday, January 12th, Henson was contacted and arrested by deputies in Southern Humboldt and transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility where he was booked on his outstanding warrant.
