California Highway Patrol press release:

On January 10, 2016, at approximately 0320 hours, CHP officers initiated an enforcement stop on a Toyota pickup for failing to stop at a posted stop sign on Briceland Road.  CHP officers activated their marked patrol vehicle’s Code 3 lights and siren, and the Toyota continued traveling west on Briceland Road.  The 30 year old male driver, Alexander Lyon of Ettersburg, CA, allowed the Toyota to leave the roadway, travel up an embankment, and roll over on to its roof, coming to rest in both east and westbound lanes of Briceland Road.  Both lanes of Briceland Road were closed temporarily as fire personnel extracted both trapped parties from the vehicle.  Due to the collision, the passenger, Michael Lyon, age 59, was transported to Jerold Phelps Community Hospital, by ambulance, for treatment of injuries sustained in the collision.  Alexander Lyon was arrested and booked into the Humboldt County Jail in Eureka on suspicion of DUI.
