Caltrans lets us know Highway 299 between here and there is going to be closed for the “next two to three hours” due to a rock slide. The ol’ Quickmap tells us that this slide slid just west of Junction City — which is itself just west of Weaverville — at about 7:30 this morning, and is going to remain closed for a good long while.
