City of Eureka press release:
The deadline for reclaiming personal property stored with the City on May 2 and 3, 2016 by those individuals camping at the Palco Marsh is Friday, August 5, 2016. The process for reclaiming property, stored by the City, is as follows:
Any individual who stored property with the City on May 2 or 3, 2016 must have some form of identification (such as a driver’s license, state issued identification card or known to EPD) to reclaim their property;
The last day to reclaim property is August 5, 2016;
Property can be reclaimed at the City Corporation Yard located at 945 Fourteenth Street, Eureka, CA 95501 during the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. beginning Wednesday, August 3, 2016 through Friday, August 5, 2016. If you wish to claim any property in advance of these open hours, you must contact the Eureka Police Department at (707) 441-4060;
You must take ALL of your property;
You will be asked to sign a release once you have removed your property from the
conex boxes and from the site;
If there is property that you do not wish to reclaim, you will be asked to sign a release
surrendering your rights to the property and it will be IMMEDIATELY discarded;
Please do not leave the conex boxes without obtaining ALL of your property. Once you leave the conex boxes, it will be assumed that any property that you did not take
with you is being abandoned and will be IMMEDIATELY discarded;
If you do not reclaim ALL of your property from the conex boxes, it will be deemed
abandoned and it will be IMMEDIATELY discarded;
You must arrange for the transport of your property to its new location. The City will
not be assisting anyone with or making arrangements for the transport of their
property;
Any property that is left at the conex boxes after 5 p.m. on August 5, 2016 will be
presumed abandoned and will be IMMEDIATELY discarded.
The City will not continue to store any property that is not reclaimed by 5 p.m. on August 5, 2016. ANY PROPERTY REMAINING IN THE CONEX BOXES AFTER 5 P.M. ON AUGUST 5, 2016 WILL BE IMMEDIATELY DISCARDED.
If for any reason, you cannot reclaim your property by the deadline then contact the Eureka Police Department at (707) 441-4060 PRIOR to August 3, 2016.
